Who is your audience?
When asked what sort of art they make, some people simply reply “portraiture” or “street photography”. Or, if they have thought about it some more, they may point at some of their influences: “I follow in the footsteps of Jeff Wall, Rodney Graham, and Ian Wallace.” When asked who their audience is, however, many people will give you a blank stare.
